These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Farewallet mobile application ("the App"), operated by Devang Shah ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
These Terms should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what data the App collects and how it is used. Where these Terms discuss data handling, the Privacy Policy is the more detailed and authoritative source.
Farewallet is an offline-first travel planning and expense-splitting app. It lets you plan a trip's itinerary, track and split expenses — either within a full trip or in a standalone expense group with no trip attached — store travel documents, view offline maps, and keep emergency information handy. Most features work without an internet connection; some (cloud sync, sharing a trip with others, AI itinerary import, live maps and routing) require connectivity.
The App is provided for personal, non-commercial use.
You may use the App without an account in offline-only mode, with no cloud sync or trip sharing. Creating an account requires an email address and password and enables cloud sync and shared trips.
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA/UK) to create an account — see our Privacy Policy, Section 10.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at dontknowtechnologies@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree not to: use the App for any unlawful purpose, or to store or share content that is illegal, harassing, threatening, or infringes someone else's rights; attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorized access to the App or the services it connects to; use the AI itinerary import feature to process documents you don't have the right to share, or to attempt to extract, abuse, or overload the underlying AI service; use the peer-to-peer sync or shared-trip features to send another user content you don't have the right to share; interfere with or disrupt the App, or attempt to access another user's account or data without authorization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You own the content you create in the App — itinerary items, notes, expenses, documents, and anything else you enter. We claim no ownership over it.
When you create or join a shared trip, you're choosing to make trip data (itinerary, expenses, notes, checklists, and any emergency medical notes you add) visible to everyone else in that shared trip. Only invite people you trust — we are not responsible for what another member of a shared trip does with data they can see, including if they remove themselves from the trip or continue to hold a copy of data after you've deleted it locally.
You are solely responsible for the content you add to a shared trip and for confirming you have the right to share it with the other members you invite.
The App relies on third-party services (Firebase, Anthropic, Maptiler, OpenStreetMap/Nominatim, Overpass, Project OSRM, Frankfurter, and device speech recognition) to provide some features. Our Privacy Policy, Section 5, lists what data each service processes. We do not control these services and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or any changes to their own terms.
The App itself — its design, code, and branding — is owned by Devang Shah and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use the Farewallet name, logo, or branding except as part of normal use of the App.
Map data displayed in the App is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL), and © Maptiler, subject to Maptiler's own terms.
The App is currently free to download and use, with no in-app purchases or subscriptions. If this changes in the future, we will update these Terms and give you reasonable notice before any paid feature takes effect.
You may stop using the App at any time, and may delete your account from Account → Delete Account, which permanently removes your cloud data as described in our Privacy Policy, Section 6.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms, engage in conduct that harms other users, or for any other reason at our discretion, with notice where practicable.
The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data (including third-party data such as map tiles, exchange rates, or points of interest) will be accurate or current.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Devang Shah will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App — including, without limitation, disputes over expense splits, reliance on navigation or offline map data, or actions of other members in a shared trip.
Because the App is free, our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App is limited to the amount you paid us to use it — currently zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold Devang Shah harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the App, including content you share with other members of a shared trip.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, show an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law in your own country or state requires otherwise (for example, EEA/UK residents retain any mandatory local consumer rights that cannot be waived by contract).
If a dispute arises, please contact us first at dontknowtechnologies@gmail.com — we'd rather resolve it directly than through a formal process.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App, and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.
